Everyday in Lorain County, someone is in need of essential services – from finding substance abuse assistance to securing adequate care for a child or an aging parent. Faced with a dramatic increase in the number of agencies and help lines, people often don’t know where to turn.

In many cases, people end up going without these necessary and readily available services because they don’t know where to start. 2-1-1 provides callers with information about and referrals to human services for every day needs and in times of crisis. 2-1-1 gives citizens one number to call when they need access to human services, or when they want to make a meaningful contribution of time or goods. 2-1-1 maintains a permanent presence in the community 24/7. As a result, people can find available help whenever the need arises.
